Magnet Selection Guide for Dynabeads®

Magnet	Optimal working volume	Description
DynaMag™-2	10 µL–2,000 µL (This magnet replaces the Dynal® MPC-S magnet)	Holds 16 (1.5–2 mL) microfuge tubes. 8 positions on each side of the rack. Top rack can be quickly removed from the magnet in the base, ready for vortexing, rotation or manual sample shaking. A center pin in the rack ensures equal vortexing of all tubes. Excellent control and visibility of your isolations.
SampleRack for DynaMag™-2	(see above)	The removable tube-holder plastic rack for the DynaMag™-2 is also available as a separate item. An additional SampleRack minimizes the need to move tubes between racks. The SampleRack can be placed on the bench, in the fridge or in the incubator.
DynaMag™-Spin	10 µL–1,500 µL	Holds 6 (1.5 mL) microfuge tubes. Circular top rack can be quickly removed from the magnet in the base, ready for vortexing or manual sample shaking. Good control of your isolations.
DynaMag™-5	1 mL–5 mL	Flexible magnet: Handles many different tube sizes (11-16 mm in diameter, e.g. flow tubes and blood collection tubes) in a more functional way. More samples: Takes 8 tubes at a time of 1 mL to 5 mL volumes. Removable SampleRack: The tubes can be kept in the same space during the whole isolation process and beyond, just lift the whole SampleRack on/off the magnet base during handling. Buy an extra SampleRack and double the capacity.
SampleRack for DynaMag™-5		The removable tube-holder plastic rack for the DynaMag™-5 is also available as a separate item. Additional SampleRacks may be useful when there are multiple users of the DynaMag™-5 magnet or when processing more than 8 samples at a time. The SampleRack can be placed on the bench, in the fridge or in the incubator.
DynaMag™-15	1 mL–15 mL (This magnet replaces the Dynal MPC™-L and Dynal MPC-15 magnets)	Holds 4 standard 15 ml tubes, or when flipped 180 degrees holds 4 x 5 mL tubes used in flow cytometry. Can be used for any starting sample in combination with all types of Dynabeads®. Good control and visibility of your isolations.
DynaMag™-50	5 mL–50 mL (This magnet replaces the Dynal MPC-50 magnet)	Holds 2 x 50 mL tubes. Can be used for any starting sample in combination with all types of Dynabeads®. Good control and visibility of your isolations.
DynaMag™-96 Side (magnified below)	5 µL–200 µL (This magnet replaces the Dynal MPC®-9600 magnet)	Holds PCR-Style Strips & Plates: PCR strips (8 & 12 well) non-skirted 96-well plates ½-skirted (200 µL) 96-well plates 48 & 96 microtubes for the Applied Biosystems GeneAmp® PCR System Pulls beads to the side of each well. For manual & automated work. Footprint same as a 96-well plate. Features 13 columns. In conjunction with an automated platform, the 13th column enables sample mixing without physically interacting with the sample.This is performed by repeatedly shifting the plate from the left-most to the right-most position & vice-versa.

Positively isolate bead-bound cells e.g. for subsequent stimulation/ expansion of T cells with Dynabeads® CD3/CD28 CTS™, and for removal of the beads following the expansion protocol.
