Qmount™ Qdot® Mounting Media
![]() | Qmount™ Qdot® mounting media preserves the fluorescence signal of Qdot® nanocrystals with little to no loss of the signal’s intensity both initially and over the course of several months. This mounting media offers excellent compatibility with all eight Qdot® nanocrystals, their conjugates, and the nuclear counterstain, Qnuclear™ Deep Red stain, making it an especially valuable tool for multicolor Qdot® nanocrystal imaging applications.

How Qmount™ Qdot® Mounting Media Works
Qmount™ Qdot® mounting media cures within 12 hours and has a refractive index of 1.5 when fully cured. Provided as 3 bottles containing 2 mls of Qmount™ Qdot® mounting media, each convenient and easy-to-use dropper bottle provides sufficient material for up to 20 coverslips based on the protocol below (Figure 2), which provides an overview of the Qmount™ Qdot® mounting media workflow.

Figure 1—Comparison of fluorescently labeled mammalian cells in Qmount™ Qdot® mounting media and Cytoseal 60™ reagents imaged on day 1, day 13, and after 8 months. Qmount™ Qdot® mounting media enhances the photostability of QDot® nanocrystals both initially and over time. Human carcinoma (HeLa) cells labeled with mouse anti-OxPhos Complex V inhibitor protein IgG (Cat. no. A21355) and Qdot® 605 conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG were mounted with Qmount™ or Cytoseal 60™ mountant, and illuminated using a 100-watt Hg-arc lamp. |
