Amplex® Red Technology

How Amplex® Red Reagent Works

Amplex® Red reagent is a colorless substrate that reacts with hydrogen peroxide.

Amplex® UltraRed Reagent

Our Amplex® UltraRed reagent improves upon the performance of the Amplex® Red reagent, offering brighter fluorescence and enhanced sensitivity.

Customize Your Amplex® Red Assay

We offer custom services with the Amplex® Red assays including bulk packaging, custom assay design and more.

Amplex® Red Assays Advantages
Amplex® Red and Amplex® UltraRed reagents over significant advantages over other oxidative enzyme assays. These include:

Increased sensitivity
  • Extended dynamic range and sensitivity compared to classic colorimetric oxidase assays
  • Fluorescence emission outside the range of compound autofluorescence

Quantitative enzyme activity detection

High Throughput compatibility
  • Antibody-free detection of analytes at pennies per well
  • Scalable assay formats - custom packaging available

Ability to customize enzyme assays to fit your needs

Each kit comes complete with all the reagents needed to detect the enzyme and analytes in common biological samples, with standards included for precise quantitation.

Amplex® Red Assays for Multiple Research Areas

Cell Signaling and Lipids

Lipases and inorganic phosphates are critical in many signaling pathways, from mTOR to GPCRs where they are involved in disease states ranging from cardiovascular to inflammation and cancer.

Inflammation and Immune Function
A number of molecules secreted by cells in the immune system serve as antimicrobials to fight infection.  The most prevalent of these effectors include H2O2, xanthine, catalase, neuraminidase, and myeloperoxidase.
