Life Technologies plans to retire the 7300 Real-Time PCR System effective December 31, 2011.
Why is the 7300 Real-Time PCR System Being Retired?
The 7300 Real-Time PCR System continues to be a valuable and reliable instrument for our existing customers. However, due to the introduction of newer and more sophisticated technology such as the StepOnePlus™ Real-Time PCR System, we have decided to retire this instrument. Currently, we have a limited number of 7300 Real-Time PCR Systems available for sale. Once orders have been booked for all of these instruments, no additional orders will be accepted. We anticipate that shipment and delivery of the final instruments will be concluded before the end of December 31, 2011. After this date, we will discontinue all manufacture and sale of the 7300 Real-Time PCR System.
Applied Biosystems presently plans to support current 7300 Real-Time PCR System users with related software, reagents, and consumables—as well as maintenance and repair service, and technical and applications support—for a minimum of five years from the date of discontinuance. If any changes occur to the level of support we can offer, existing customers will be notified at that time.
What are my Future Planning Options?
Trade-in options are available towards the latest generation of Applied Biosystems Real-Time PCR Systems, including the StepOnePlus™ Real-Time PCR System. All pre-existing service contracts are carried through the upgrade and trade-in process to the new system.
For additional information on trade-in and upgrade options, please contact Life Technologies at email@example.com or via telephone at 800 327 3002 (toll-free in US only).
