Peptide Design Service
We offer a peptide design service to help you design the optimal peptide for the antibody you need for your experiments. Minimize solubility problems and maximize your chances of obtaining the antibody you need. Our scientist provide customized, detailed reports and sequences of the peptide to be synthesized for your project.
The overall amino acid composition of a peptide is an important design variable that is frequently overlooked. A peptide's solubility is strongly influenced by composition. Some factors that should be taken into consider include the following:- Length of Sequence
- Hydrophobic Stretches
- Acidic and Basic Amino Acids
- Difficult Amino Acids
- Alternatives to Methionine and Cysteine
- Secondary Structure
- Purity
- Labels and Modificaitons
Service Offerings
Invitrogen offers gram scale synthesis for custom peptides. Each peptide is quoted individually because of variability of amino acid sequence. Contact Invitrogen Custom Services for more information.Catalog no. Description 12543000 Custom Peptide Synthesis M0322 Peptide Design Service
Peptide Synthesis
Take advantage of Invitrogen’s expertise in peptide synthesis for all your custom peptide needs. Invitrogen synthesizes custom peptides in modern, automated synthesizers using Fmoc chemistry, resulting in rapid delivery of high quality resin cleaved peptides. Each peptide is visually inspected and undergoes mass spectral quality control before shipment. In addition, purified peptides are shipped with HPLC analysis data.
Custom peptides are often used for enzymatic assays, as antigens for the generation of peptide antibodies or as components of crystallographic analysis. The number of applications where Custom Peptides may be used well exceeds these possibilities, yet the need is the same - consistent, high-quality peptides made to exact specifications.
Flexible options- Peptide synthesis (crude, 70%, 80%, 90% or 95% purity).
- Peptide scale.
- Peptide length.
- Labels & Modifications (acetylation, amidation, biotinylation, fluorescein, myristylation, phosphorylation, rhodamine and Alexa Fluor® dyes).
- Special amino acids (peptide mix of 2-19 random amino acids, and peptide D-form.
- Cyclization (cysteine to cysteine only).
- Aliquoting, order your peptides pre-aliquoted for convenience
Service Description Peptide Scale 1mg, 5mg, 20mg, 50mg or 100mg Peptide Purification HPLC purification to >70%, >80%, >90% or >95%. Crude peptide also available. Peptide Length Synthesis of peptides from 6-45 residues for a standard base. Labels and Modifications Acetylation, amidation, biotinylation, fluorescein, formylation, methylation, myristylation, phophorylation (serine, tyrosine, threonine), rhodamine. Other modifications and labels are available; please inquire. Conjugations Keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH), ovalbumin (OVA), bovine serum albumin (BSA) or multiple antigen peptide (MAP). Special Amino Acids Peptide mix of 2-19 random amino acids in which an amino acid is altered (position, replacement amino acid and ratio all specified by customer). Cyclization Disulfide bridge from cysteine to cysteine Amino Acid Analysis Digestion and analysis of amino acids User-Supplied Antigens
If you would like to raise antibodies against your own supplied antigen (i.e. fusion protein, recombinant protein, or other) then we can assist you. Supply 5 mg of the antigen at a concentration of 0.3 mg/mL. If considering Affinity Purification please supply 5 mg additional.Antigens can be lyophilized or provided in solution without organic solvents.
Hapten – Carrier Conjugation
Traditional hapten-carrier conjugation is available. Chose between several different carriers such as keyhole limpet hemacyanin, (KLH), bovine serum albumin (BSA) and ovalbumin (OVA).
We offer a proprietary Multiple Antigenic Peptide (MAP) methodology that presents the peptides in alternate, multiple conformations on a branched lysine core to produce antibodies with greater utility across assays. This conjugation scheme provides a better matching of epitopes between the presented peptide and the way the peptides are presented in the native protein.
Antibody Purification
The highest level of purification is achieved with our peptide-affinity chromatography, which is unmatched in producing highly functional, monospecific antibodies with extremely high affinity. We also offer Protein A purification and cross-adsorption services. All purified antibodies are analyzed with ELISA and absorbance.
Custom Polyclonal Antibody Services
-
The production of monospecific, polyclonal antibodies using the Invitrogen protocols includes injections, serum collections, and ELISAs for two rabbits. Peptide synthesis, conjugation, and additional purifications are separate charges. In order to meet the varying needs of researchers, we offer additional services and modifications, which are listed in the table below. If you require a service or modification that is not listed, please contact Invitrogen Custom Services for more information.

Important Billing and Shipping Information
-
Each service catalog number is invoiced at the completion of the service and not at the time of shipment of the deliverable of that service (such as bleeds, aliquots, and ELISA data). This is because you have the option not to receive the deliverables after the service is performed.
Example: If you select peptide synthesis, KLH conjugation and the antibody protocol, you will receive 3 invoices, one after completion of the peptide synthesis, one after conjugation, and one at the last scheduled bleed of the protocol.Custom Antibody Production Disclaimer
Please note that Invitrogen does not offer any guarantees regarding our custom antibody production service. Some or all animals may fail to give a response to certain peptides. Our antibody service is designed to maximize your chances in producing a functional reagent on all levels.
