Custom TaqMan® MGB and TAMRA™ Probes are dual labeled, real-time PCR probes that can be used in all of your real-time PCR applications.

Applied Biosystems Custom TaqMan® MGB™ Probes incorporate a 5’ reporter dye and a 3’ non-fluorescent quencher (NFQ). The NFQ offers the advantage of lower background signal, which results in better precision in quantitation. The MGB moiety stabilizes the hybridized probe and effectively raises the melting temperature (Tm). This means MGB probes can be shorter than traditional dual-labeled probes, which makes them better suited for allelic discrimination applications. Custom TaqMan MGB probes are available with the following reporter dyes; Fam™, Vic®, TET™, and NED™.
