Stem Cell Engineering

Life Technologies offers a wide variety of gene delivery techniques to introduce plasmid DNA, siRNA or duplex RNAi, oligonucleotides, and RNA into both somatic and stem cells to modify and study gene and protein expression, and explore disease and differentiation pathways.

Stem Cell Engineering Tools

Neon® Transfection System

Electroporation technology for highly efficient delivery of nucleic acids  into virtually any animal cell type. Can be used for reprogramming somatic cells into iPSCs.

Gateway® cloning

Gateway® recombination cloning technology circumvents traditional restriction enzyme based cloning limitations by using a one hour, 99%-efficient, reversible recombination reaction, without using restriction enzymes, ligase, subcloning steps, or screening of countless colonies, thereby saving you time, money, and effort.

DNA imageJump-In™ Targeted Integration Kits

The Jump-In™ Targeted Integration (TI) technology uses PhiC31 integrase-mediated recombination to stably integrate your choice of DNA sequence at specific genomic locations called pseudo-attP sites in mammalian cells. Jump-In™ Fast Gateway® System combines Invitrogen’s MultiSite Gateway® Pro Plus cloning technology and Jump-In™ targeted integration technology to efficiently produce well-expressing mammalian cell lines.

BacMam technologyBacMam technology

A baculovirus delivery system for efficient transduction of mammalian cell lines, including primary and stem cells. Baculoviruses are non-replicating in mammalian cells and thus have an excellent safety profile combined with being well-tolerated by cells. Life Technologies offers a range of BacMam based fluorescent sub-cellular markers and biosensors and our services team can work with you to utilize BacMam technology in your project of interest.
