Microbial Sequencing

Microbial sequencing can be used in a wide variety of applications and encompasses directed resequencing of a few bases all the way through to population analysis of a metagenome. Microbial sequencing can be used to type strains (for example MLST) and to analyze genomic differences between strains. There are two major sequencing approaches, de novo wherein the genome is assembled without prior knowledge, and resequencing where previous genome information is used. Life technologies is able to offer a solution that covers the entire range of sequencing:

  • Resequencing Individual genes
  • Resequencing entire genomes
  • de novo sequencing of genomes
  • Bacterial identification
  • Metagenomic analysis
  • Sequencing of transcriptome
