Lipofectamine® 2000 Transfection Reagent
|
Transfect your cells with confidence
Lipofectamine® 2000 Reagent delivers DNA or siRNA with excellent transfection performance for protein expression, gene silencing, and functional assays. Superior efficiency, optimized protocols, and unparalleled success across a broad range of cell lines (figure 1)—Lipofectamine® 2000 Reagent does it all.

Figure 1: Lipofectamine® 2000 Reagent yields high transfection efficiencies in a variety of cell lines. Representative images are shown for the conditions that produced optimal transfection. Blue cells are those that express β-lactamase and therefore have been successfully transfected with the reporter vector. Green cells are untransfected. GripTite™ 293 MSR cells untreated (A) and transfected using 0.5 μg of Lipofectamine® 2000 per well (B). HeLa cells untreated (C) and transfected using 0.25 μg of Lipofectamine® 2000 (D). MCF-7 cells untreated (E) and transfected using 0.5 μg of Lipofectamine® 2000 (F).high transfection efficiencies in a variety of cell lines.
Lipofectamine recognition
Publications citing Lipofectamine® 2000 have skyrocketed since its launch in 1999 and continue to climb despite the fact that it was launched nearly 10 years ago (Figure 2). Lipofectamine® 2000’s huge success can be attributed to its performance, delivering a high level of expression and transfection efficiency on a broad range of cell types. Overall the Lipofectamine® families of reagents are the most cited and most recognized reagents available for transfection.
