Novex® Precast Midi Gel Options
- The NuPAGE® SDS-PAGE Midi Gel System— a revolutionary neutral-pH, discontinuous SDS-PAGE system. The neutral (pH 7.0) environment during electrophoresis results in maximum stability of both proteins and gel matrix, providing better band resolution than other gel systems. This system has 2 gel formulations: NuPAGE® BIs-Tris midi gels and NuPAGE® Tris-acetate midi gels.
- The Novex® Tris-Glycine Midi Gel System—based on the Laemmli system with minor modifications for maximum performance in the precast format. The separating and stacking gels of Novex® Tris-glycine midi gels have a pH of 8.65, unlike traditional Laemmli gels that have a stacking gel pH of 6.8 and separating gel pH of 8.8.
Both midi gel systems are available in different acrylamide concentrations and well formats (Table 1). All gels are available in 1.0 mm thickness only.
