Identify. Verify. Certify. The HUPO Gold MS Protein Standard
| Developed by Invitrogen in collaboration with HUPO (Human Proteome Organization) leadership and scientific thought leaders, the HUPO Gold MS Protein Standard is the first mass spectrometry standard designed to: |
- Mimic the diversity of actual biological samples
- Represent sample complexity at the level of protein and peptide molecular weights
- Ensure standard reproducibility without generation of allelic variants or other human protein contaminants
When used as a training tool or as part of your mass spectrometry analysis process, the HUPO Gold MS Protein Standard allows you to validate and cross-compare your data, independent of sample types processed, mass spectrometry workflows performed, or mass spectrometers used. Composed of twenty recombinant human proteins (Figure 1), this standard eliminates confounding results that are often observed in data analysis using standards derived from native sources.

A NuPAGE® Novex® 4 - 12% Bis-Tris Midi Gel was run with MES SDS running buffer and stained with SimplyBlue™ SafeStain. Lanes 1, 23: Mark12™ Unstained Standard, 5 ?l. Lanes 2 - 21: individual purified proteins included in the HUPO Gold MS standard, 250 ng each. Lane 22: HUPO Gold MS Protein Standard, 1.25 pmol of each protein (1/4 of amount provided in kit).
