Dynabeads® for Serum Profiling

Detection of disease-specific proteins and/or peptides in body fluids, as individual biomarkers or profiles can provide a means to detect and diagnose disease. It may also allow the assessment of disease severity, disease progression and the effectiveness of treatments. Dynabeads® allow simple and rapid capture, enrichment and fractionation of protein and peptide mixtures

Dynabeads® for Sample Preparation in Serum Profiling:
  • Reduces profiling time dramatically
  • Increases throughput with parallel, automated sample prep
  • Reduces the cost of sample prep

Choose among a wide range of capture criteria, such as cation exchange (Dynabeads® WCX, Dynabeads® SCX), anion exchange (Dynabeads® SAX) and hydrophobic capture (Dynabeads® RPC 18, Dynabeads® RPC Protein).

The Dynal® Peptide Profiler is a high-throughput serum profiling package. Once installed by us (included in the price!) you can screen 96 samples per day on Tecan® robotic platforms with Dynabeads® RPC-18.
Reliable results – fast
A simple protocol is used with any of the Dynabeads® products. The availability of different surfaces allows you to obtain different spectra from the same sample.

Workflow
Dynabeads® are added directly to your serum sample. A mixture of proteins and peptides in the serum will adsorb to Dynabeads® depending on the nature of the proteins/peptides and the surface of the Dynabeads®. The Dynabeads®-protein/peptide complex is easily washed. Proteins and/or peptides are then desorbed from the Dynabeads® and analyzed by Mass Spectrometry

Automation
To perform simultaneous preparation of multiple samples, the Dynabeads® protocol can be automated on basically any liquid handling platform. Villanueva et al. (2006) have demonstrated that 96 samples can be profiled in less than 27 hours, using a Tecan® platform for Dynabeads® sample prep. In this time, the whole process from sample preparation to analyzed data is performed.
