Instructions

Attention - Before You Install

1) Save any data from the csv file you wish to archive:

a) Go to the 'save' menu
b) Press 'view csv file'
c) Press 'save to USB'

2) Start a new CSV file:

a) Go to the save screen
b) Press 'start new CSV'
c) When prompted, press 'OK' to erase previous data and start new csv file

Step 1 - Download and Save to USB

Download the firmware and save it to your Countess® USB drive.

Note: Save directly to your Countess® USB drive, dragging/copying & pasting to your USB drive may result in an error.

a)    Save the exe. file to your USB drive
b)    Double-click file icon on your USB drive.
c)    Click ‘Extract’
d)    A total of 5 files should be unzipped onto your USB. Note: the files cannot be in a folder on the USB drive. They must be individual files.

Step 2 - Upload to Your Countess

Insert the USB drive into the Countess® USB port. Access the “Settings” Screen and press “Update” (See Figure).

You will be prompted to update. Press "OK". After pressing the “OK” button, the instrument will update with the new firmware. This may take several minutes. When the update is complete, you will be prompted to restart the instrument. The new version number (2.0) is displayed in the lower left corner of the main counting screen.

Step 3 - Calibrate and Restart

a) You must recalibrate the instrument by going to the “Settings” menu and press “Calibrate” (See Figure).

b) Follow the instructions on the calibration screen. When the calibration is complete, you will be prompted to restart the instrument (See Figure). You are finished and ready to utilize the new features!

Step 4 - Update Your PC Software

Updated! Now compatible with Windows 7! In order to view the new Countess® 09/2009 features on your computer, you will also need to install the latest software update.

Note: The software is not required to run the instrument. Install the software only if you'd like to see the results on your computer and print a summary report.		 Countess™ Software Update
