 | Compensation beads are used to ensure the integrity of your experimental data during or after data acquisition. Since cellular-based compensation controls are not always completely effective, using bead-based compensation controls is a good alternative. These flow cytometry compensation beads give you more consistent and reliable compensation because they have low lot-to-lot variability and have been optimized for the application you are running. Bead-based flow cytometry compensation controls also have a history of long-term stability due to their manufacturing processes. |
Compensation Beads for Immunophenotyping
AbC™ Bead Kits are flow cytometry compensation kits that contain polystyrene microspheres that are either coated with IgG (positive compensation beads) that react with all mouse or rat/hamster isotypes, or uncoated (negative compensation beads). One drop of AbC™ flow cytometry compensation beads is added to a test tube containing the same antibody conjugates that are being used for cell staining. After incubation with a fluorochrome-conjugated mouse antibody, the beads are washed in staining buffer, a drop of negative control beads is added if required, then resuspended and analyzed by flow cytometry. The two components provide distinct positive and negative populations of beads that can be used to set compensation.

Compensation Beads for Amine-Reactive Dyes
The ArC™ Bead Kit is a bead-based flow cytometry compensation control specifically optimized for use with all of the LIVE/DEAD® Fixable Dead Cell Stain kits. One drop of beads is added to a test tube containing LIVE/DEAD® Fixable Dead Cell Stain. After incubation with the amine-reactive dye, the beads are washed in staining buffer, a drop of negative control beads is added if required, then resuspended and analyzed by flow cytometry. The two components provide distinct positive beads that are at least 50-fold brighter than the negative beads, which can be used to set flow cytometry compensation.
