Faster flow rates with minimal loss of signal resolution
"The acoustic focusing on the Life Technologies' Attune is the most significant advance in cell delivery to a flow cytometer since hydrodynamic focusing was optimized over 40 years ago. There should be major payoffs from this new technology—faster flow rates with minimal loss of signal resolution, allowing faster sample throughput for large samples with rare cells. The ability to control the flow rate should also give increased fluorescence sensitivity at lower flow rates, and improved scatter resolution."

Better, faster—and well supported.
"I am writing to you to really thank you [for letting us know] about the Attune. You were in fact the first who introduced us to this new technology in Oslo last year, and finally we were able to buy it. It is an excellent instrument and we are extremely satisfied to have it in our institute. It is a great advantage to have better and faster results in the simplest way and without consumption of litres of fluids. (Previously used FACSCalibur). Moreover, the assistance offered by Life Technologies is superlative so it makes the difference with other companies. Better, faster—and well supported."

The free software...lets them do their analysis on their own computers
"The Attune Cytometer was welcomed into our Flow Cytometry User’s Facility in March 2011. This facility allows users to operate the instruments and complete their own analysis at their convenience. Therefore, it requires a robust but user friendly system. The Attune is used for multi color phenotype analysis, proliferation assays, cell cycle analysis and viability statistics. With having the combination of the violet and blue laser users generally employ the violet one for detecting viability and the blue for the antibody phenotype staining. However, with greater availability of reagents using conjugates compatible with the violet laser people are able to do multicolor analysis utilizing both the violet and blue lasers without the concern of compensation or spectral overlap.
With the Acoustic focusing and sample uptake technology, the Attune rarely clogs or encounters other common fluidic problems as seen with other cytometers that require sheath pressure. During its first year of operation with multiple users we only once required servicing for a problem that was readily solved.
Our clients rave about how easy it is to use and love the free software that lets them do their analysis on their own computers. This feature then frees up time on the instrument for others to acquire their samples. The auto compensation works so well and again makes this task so easy for the operator. Many of our users require the need for absolute counts available with the Attune. ALL of our users have been extremely satisfied with the Attune's performance, quality of data, its ease of use and the user friendly software. The Attune has met all of our expectations to the point that we are investing in a 2nd one for our facility."

Attune gives much better result with less effort
"The major interest of my laboratory is in the area of Dendritic Cell differentiation. We use flow cytometry heavily in our studies. Historically, we had been running our experiments using a Beckman Coulter Gallios flow cytometer. Recently, however, we purchased an Attune acoustic focusing cytometer based upon the higher sample rates and higher cell focusing precision. Once we began using the instruments in parallel, we realized that Attune gives much better result with less effort. Attune gives us quicker results and this is appreciated by the lab as some work close to midnight on some days. We also found the small size and easy-to-use software to be of great benefit as well.”
