Choosing a PCR enzyme is easy: Simply determine the characteristics that best suit your needs to find the perfect match for your application. AccuPrime™ technology provides specific primer-template hybridization in every cycle of PCR. Platinum® technology provides efficient hot starts for robust PCR performance. In addition to a choice of enzymes, many enzymes are available with a SuperMix format option.

GC-Rich PCR

AccuPrime™ GC-Rich DNA Polymerase was developed specifically for GC-rich targets.



High-Fidelity PCR

Proofreading enzymes such as Platinum® Pfx DNA polymerase offer the highest fidelity (lowest error rate).

High-Specificity PCR

Platinum® hot-start enzymes improve specificity and prevent mispriming. AccuPrime™ accessory proteins are included in many enzyme preparations.


Long-Fragment PCR

For templates longer than 10 kb, use a high-yield PCR enzyme blend containing Taq polymerase and a proofreading enzyme.


PCR Genotyping

Platinum® GenoType Tsp DNA Polymerase is designed and qualified specifically for amplification of dinucleotide repeat markers in PCR-based genotyping applications.


Routine PCR

Basic Taq polymerase provides acceptable results for routine amplification, while Platinum® Taq is ideal for more complex PCR applications.
