Helping Communities Promote Life Sciences
-
At times, we have the opportunity to associate with great organizations who share our values. The BioTechnical Institute (BTI) of Maryland, Inc. is a non-profit institution developed to provide tuition-free training in Cell Culture and Molecular Biology laboratory skills to bright, ambitious, unemployed and under-employed Baltimore, MD residents. Combining hands on experience in the lab and classroom instruction they position these students with in-demand skills allowing them for easy placement in the job market.
As a partner in the science community Invitrogen donates all the necessary reagents to support the development of the individuals participating in the BioTechnical Institutes programs.
Helping Researchers Perform Better Science Through Techniques Training
-
In addition to their non-profit activities, BTI has developed a workshop program called BioSciConcepts which specializes in scientific training to a professional audience across a variety of molecular biology and cell culture techniques. All of the proceeds from these programs are used to fund the work of the non-profit arm of the organization.
We send many of our own employees to their applied hands-on training to fill gaps in these employees’ scientific training. These sessions may be relevant for you or others in your organization as well.
BioSciConcepts offers a range of workshops for those interested in how the various technologies fit into the businesses or in updating their modern science knowledge. See below for a link to more information on these training programs.Relevant websites
