Random Primers are oligodeoxyribonucleotides (mostly hexamers) used to prepare labeled DNA probes from templates for filter hybridization or in situ hybridization and to prime mRNAs with or without poly(A) for cDNA synthesis. These primers are truly random and are suitable for DNA synthesis using Klenow fragments with DNA templates or for cDNA synthesis using reverse transcriptase with mRNA templates. To avoid storage buffer interference, Random Primers are supplied in a low-salt-concentration buffer. Performance and Quality Testing: Incorporation of a radioactively labeled nucleotide is verif...

Random Hexamers (50 µM)

Category: Products & Services > Oligos, Primers, Probes & Nucleotides > DNA Primers & Oligos > Random Primers

Applied Biosystems® Random Hexamers are short oligodeoxyribonucleotides of random sequence [d(N) 6 ] that anneal to random complementary sites on a target DNA or RNA, to serve as primers for DNA synthesis by a DNA polymerase or reverse transcriptase. With radiolabeled nucleotides present, the DNA is labeled quickly and reliably to high specific activity.
