Gibco® Zeocin™ selective reagent is a formulation of phleomycin D1, a glycopeptide antibiotic produced by Streptomyces verticillus. Gibco® Zeocin™ selective reagent acts by binding to and cleaving DNA, leading to cell death. Gibco® Zeocin™ selective reagent is used for selection of yeast, bacterial and mammalian cell cultures. This product is supplied at 100 mg/ml in sterile water and is used at a working concentration ranging between 50 - 400 µg/ml depending on the cell type.
