Specific for PRDM5

PR-domain containing protein 5 (PRDM5) is a sequence-specific DNA-binding transcription factor. It represses transcription at least in part by recruitment of the histone methyltransferase EHMT2/ G9A and histone deacetylases like HDAC1, thus causing G2/ M arrest and apoptosis in cancer cells. It also regulates hematopoiesis-associated protein-coding and microRNA (miRNA) genes. The protein may play an important role in the development and maintenance of extracellular matrix proteins such as fibrillar collagens (like COL4A1 and COL11A1), connective tissue components (like HAPLN1), and the molecules that regulate cell migration and adhesion (like EDIL3 and TGFB2).
