Specific for HACE1

HECT domain and ankyrin repeat-containing E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase 1 (HACE1) is a ubiquitination moderator involved in Golgi membrane fusion and regulation of small GTPases. During mitotic Golgi disassembly, HACE1 acts by mediating ubiquitination, which serves as a signal for Golgi reassembly after cell division. HACE1 is recruited to Golgi membrane by Rab proteins and regulates post-mitotic Golgi membrane fusion. The protein also plays an role in host defense against pathogens by mediating ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of active RAC1.
