This is a purified rabbit anti-human TIMP3 oligoclonal antibody (oAb) that can be used in validated applications such as western blotting (WB), indirect ELISA, immunocytochemistry (ICC), and flow cytometry (FC).

Specific for TIMP3
TIMP3 (tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 3) is encoded by the gene TIMP3 located on chromosome 22. It belongs to the family of TIMP genes and is known to inhibit the activity of matrix metalloproteinases. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a group of proteinases that degrade the components of extracellular matrix. TIMP3 irreversibly binds to the MMPs and inactivates them with the help of zinc as a cofactor. Mitogenic stimulation plays an important role in the expression of this gene. Other biological functions include CNS development, tissue regeneration, and visual perception.
