This is a purified ABfinity™ recombinant rabbit anti-human CNTF monoclonal antibody (mAb) that can be used in validated applications such as western blotting (WB) and indirect ELISA.

Specific for CNTF

CNTF (ciliary neurotrophic factor) is encoded by the CNTF gene located on chromosome 11. CNTF is a polypeptide hormone whose activity is limited to the nervous system where it aids in neurotransmitter synthesis and neuronal growth. CNTF plays an important role in minimizing tissue destruction in neurons during inflammation. In addition to this, CNTF promotes membrane hyper-polarization, muscle morphogenesis, the development of the nervous system, and the positive regulation of PI3K pathway and the JAK-STAT cascade pathway.
