Description

The pFastBac™ Dual vector features two promoters in a single vector for expression of two proteins simultaneously in insect cells when using the Bac-to-Bac® Baculovirus Expression System. The vector has two strong promoters, the polyhedrin promoter and the p10 promoter, for high-level expression. An expression control is included that expresses both CAT and β-glucuronidase (gus).

Product Usage: Melanization-inhibiting protein (MIP) was expressed using Bac-to-Bac Baculovirus expression sytem. The cDNA encoding the mature MIP was subcloned into pFastBacDUAL vector. The recombinant virus was amplified using Sf9 cells in SF-900II serum-free medium. To produce the protein, High Five cells were grown in Grace's medium supplemented with 20% Sf-900II serum-free medium and 0.1% Pluonic F-68 reagent. TRIzol and ThermoScript Reverse Transcriptase were for RT-PCR.
